Monthly stand-alone Consent Conversation Workshops ask “Why is it so hard to talk about consent - and how can we make it easier?”

The Public Health advice for COVID-19 has been updated and from this Thursday, 30th March 2023, COVID-19 testing is no longer recommended for the vast majority of people.

In line with this new advice, community testing centres across the country and the self-referral portal for ordering PCR tests are no longer required, and both will be closed as of 30th March 2023.

HIV Ireland has today welcomed the publication of the review of the National Sexual Health Strategy as timely, noting the continued reported rise in rates of HIV and STIs in Ireland. The review was commissioned by the Department of Health in advance of the preparation of a new National Sexual Health strategy for Ireland.

World Bipolar Day is on March 30th, 2023.  Affecting up to 40 million people worldwide (WHO, 2022), it is estimated that 1-2% of people in Ireland experience a lifetime prevalence of bipolar disorder. It is a complex and chronic condition characterised by extreme changes in mood and energy and can have a profound impact on every aspect of a person’s day to day life.

Congratulations to Theresa Lowry Lehnen, South East Technological University, who was awarded the 'Nurse Educator' award at the INCA excellence awards, at Trinity College Dublin, on Saturday March 25th 2023. This award is dedicated to a nurse who contributes as a leader in nursing education, and who has made a significant and note-worthy contribution to nursing and education.

Norovirus cases on the rise in Ireland

The National Skin Cancer Prevention Plan 2023-2026 was launched today, March 22nd 2023. The aim of the plan is to increase awareness and adoption of skin cancer prevention behaviours to reverse the rising cases of skin cancer in Ireland.
