HSE launches free home test for Hepatitis C. 5th April 2023.

The Health Service Executive has launched a new service today offering free online home testing for Hepatitis C. Up to 3,000 people in Ireland may currently have the blood borne virus, which infects the liver and, if left untreated, can cause serious and potentially life-threatening damage. The home test involving a simple finger prick test, will be delivered by post. The completed test is sent to the laboratory in the pre-paid envelope provided. Results will be communicated by text or phone.

There are 8 units/modules and MCQ assessments following each unit to complete, which will take approximately 2- 3 hours.
