The DUHEI Survey is the most detailed national survey of drug use and trends conducted amongst students in Higher Education in Ireland.

You are invited to attend the DUHEI Town Hall 2022, where the main findings of the Drug Use in Higher Education In Ireland survey will be presented, followed by a discussion on the findings, and consideration of the recommendations for action.

The DUHEI report highlights the need to address the issue of drug use amongst students in Ireland and provides the data essential for the implementation of the Framework for Response to the Use of Illicit Substances within Higher Education. The Town Hall provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and discussion.

The Town Hall will be opened by Minister Feighan T.D., Minister of State for Public Health, Wellbeing & the National Drugs Strategy, and include presentations from Dr. Michael Byrne, Lead on the DUHEI Survey and Head of Student Health at UCC, and Dr. Samantha Dockray, Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology, UCC, with contributions from other experts, including Professor Eamon Keenan, National Clinical Lead - Addiction Services, Clinical Professor in Addiction Studies, Dept. of Public Health and Primary Care, TCD. The panel of discussants will also include student representatives, the report authors, and local and national experts in the area of drug use and addiction.
