PCHEI, the representative body of student counselling services in higher education, have partnered with 50808 anonymous text support service. The new 24/7 text service provides mental health support for third level students. Student Counselling and other Student Services, along with Student's Unions and other student groups, will promote the 50808 service as an important and valuable mode of support to university/college students, 24/7. » read more

 

Covid Tracker App advice for staff wearing PPE (HSE Update 04/09/2020)

The recommendation from Public Health is that GPs and other healthcare workers involved in patient care should turn off the contact tracing feature in the app when they begin patient care, and importantly remember to switch it back on when you finish work at shift or session end.This will prevent you from receiving anonymous close contact alerts from the app while you are wearing PPE. Any close contact events in a clinical setting will still be picked up by the manual contact tracing process. » read more

The next free Aware "Life Skills Online" programme opens for registration on Monday, 10th August at 4pm. The Life Skills Online programme is comprised of eight modules. Based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), the Life Skills programmes are designed to help participants learn more about how we think and how this can influence our actions in helpful or unhelpful ways. Higher Education Institutions in Ireland have unanimously welcomed the publication of the Implementation Guidelines for Public Health Measures in HEIs by Minister Simon Harris today. The Guidelines include a range of context-specific measures for Higher Education Institutions that have been drawn up by senior public health experts within the sector and endorsed by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre of the Health Service Executive. » read more
