The Irish Student Health Association Conference 2020, themed 'A healthy mind in a healthy body', took place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th of February, hosted this year by our colleagues from Trinity College Dublin (TCD). The conference was held at The Alex Hotel, with the annual gala dinner at the spectacular and historic Trinity College Dining Hall. The current national Mumps outbreak, which began in 2018, has continued unabated through to the beginning of 2020, resulting in over 3,500 cases across the country. As vaccination is the only way to protect against Mumps, the HSE have announced a national campaign to provide FREE MMR booster dose to any person between the ages of 11 to 30yrs of age, who cannot confirm or are unsure as to whether they received the recommended 2 MMR doses. » read more

This past weekend proved to be an incredibly hectic, but very fruitful one, for Theresa Lowry-Lehnen, our valued ISHA colleague and Assistant PRO. She achieved a double success in relation to her smoking cessation interventions as part of the 'Smokeless Campus' initiative in IT Carlow, with her winning the Nursing Project of the Year award of the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards and the Educational Bursary at the 2019 IPNA Conference. » read more
