Minister Mitchell O’Connor launches a European Charter to promote gender equality in the University sector (15th May 2019)

Mary Mitchell O'Connor T.D. Minister of State for Higher Education today (15th May 2019) formally launched a Charter to promote gender equality in the University sector. SAGE – Systemic Action for Gender Equality – is an EU-Horizon 2020 funded project designed to seek stronger action on gender equality in higher education and research. SAGE devises and implements interventions to advance gender equality in European countries, and is being led by Trinity College Dublin. » read more

'Executive Committee Member - Theresa Lowry Lehnen (PhD), IT Carlow' image Theresa was elected to the ISHA Executive Committee at the 2019 AGM. She has a vast background and experience in secondary and primary care and specialised in Coronary Care and General Practice Nursing. The Clinical Nurse Specialist at the nurse led Student Health Centre at IT Carlow, Theresa has a PhD, is a Registered Nurse Prescriber and is a regular contributor to Medical and Nursing Journals. She is also an Associate Lecturer and a registered teacher with the Teaching Council of Ireland. » read more

'HSE Food, Nutrition and Hydration Policy For Adult Patients in Acute Hospitals' image HSE has launched a Food, Nutrition and Hydration Policy for Adult Patients in Acute Hospitals. A toolkit to support local implementation has also been developed. The Policy provides a framework for a standardised approach to food and nutritional care provision by all staff. It encompasses recommendations on nutritional screening and promotes a patient centred approach to delivery of services. 'Report from ISHA 2019 AGM & Conference' image The first weekend in March saw the hosting of the ISHA 2019 Annual Conference and AGM, in the lovely and comfortable surrounds of The Kingsley Hotel, by the banks of the beautiful River Lee. Delegates from all corners of the country gathered for the beginning of the conference on Friday, 1st March.
