2020 ISHA Conference - call for abstract submissions for Pauline Carbery Memorial Award & nominations for Dr. David Thomas Award
The 2020 ISHA Conference will see just the 2nd year of the presentation of our new annual ISHA Awards - The Pauline Carbery Memorial Award for 'Best Poster Presentation' and The Dr. David Thomas Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to 3rd Level Student Health'. This year's ISHA Conference will be taking place in The Alex Hotel, Dublin, on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th February, hosted by the College Health Service of Trinity College Dublin.
Pauline Carbery Memorial Award:
The ISHA Executive and Conference Organising Committee are now calling for submission of Abstract entries for their Poster Presentation Competition. This competition is open to any research or study that relates to any element of Student Health or Wellbeing. We are presently seeking submission of abstracts (max. 400 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org, with a closing date for receipt of applications of Friday 21st February.
[Notes: Posters will be evaluated based on the following three parameters: Presentation Style, Research Quality & Layout/Design.The Pauline Carberry Memorial Award and a prize of €250 will be presented to the winning poster presentation. Poster Size - A0 (Portrait format - Height 118.9cm Width 84.1cm)]
Dr. David Thomas Award:
The ISHA Executive Committee are also seeking submissions from members who would like to nominate any of their fellow colleagues, either in a healthcare professional or administrative role, who they feel should be considered for receipt of the Dr. David Thomas Award based on their contribution to 3rd Level Student Health. Submissions should be sent to email@example.com on a Microsoft Word document, not exceeding a single A4 page or max. 500 words; clearly stating the Name of the Nominee and the 3rd Level Institution to which they are attached, the Name(s) of the Proposer(s); and a description of the nominee's role and their impact on and contribution to their 3rd Level Student Health Service. Deadline for receipt of nominations is Friday 21st February.
Please give consideration to entering abstracts regarding any research you may have undertaken for inclusion in our Poster Presentation Competition, and we would please ask that you circulate this information to colleagues in relevant Medical, Nursing, Psychology or other Health Sciences Faculties within your institutions, who could then disseminate it to others who may have undertaken research on topics relating to 3rd Level Student Health or Wellbeing.
Also, if you have a colleague who you feel is deserving of consideration for the Dr. David Thomas Award, then please be sure to nominate them - if they're not in, they can't win!
