Irish College of General Practitioners Annual Conference - 3rd & 4th May 2019
The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) Annual Conference takes place in the National Convention Centre in Dublin over two days, on Friday May 3rd and Saturday May 4th.
The programme is now online and has a very impressive line-up of speakers. The topics covered will address almost the full range of everyday General Practice matters.

Keynote speakers for Friday include Dr Liam Farrell and Prof Frank Murray.
Prof Mayur Lakhani , president of the Royal College of General Practitioners will also give an address on General Practice, Past , present and future.
The College Forum Shaping a Healthier Future for General Practice. With the new GP contract agreement on its way, the College Forum on Saturday is very topical. Presented by Dr Michael Harty, GP, TD and Chair of the Oireachtas Health Committee, Dr Mark Murphy GP and journalist Priscilla Lynch.
Educational and wellbeing themes include:
- College's Clinical Leads have deliver sessions on COPD, Asthma, Diabetes , Cardiovascular Disease and Antimicrobial stewardship.
- Dr Mary Short, Director of Sexual and Reproductive Health has convened a very interesting schedule of topics, including a debate upon "Is the pill obsolete?".
- Dr Andree Rochfort continues the College's commitment to GP self-care and wellbeing including interactive workshops on resilience, mindfulness and peer support.
Health Inequalities will be the focus of Dr Austin O'Carroll's Gertrude Ronan Foundation Lecture on Saturday morning.
