About the Irish Student Health Association

The Irish Student Health Association (ISHA) is the organisation comprising all those involved in the delivery of health services to third level students in Ireland. Membership is open to all colleges on the CAO list, about 48 in all, although many smaller colleges do not have student health services.

Many 3rd Level colleges have services to cater for the health needs of their students on campus. They are staffed by practice nurses who are direct employees of the college and by doctors, many of whom are contracted to work in the service. The larger colleges have large teams of full time staff. The majority have smaller organisations.

The Doctors group under the ISHA is called the Doctors Assocation for Student Health (DASH) and consists of all doctors (GP's) involved in health services for third level colleges.
The nurses group under the ISHA is called the Nurses Assocation for Student Health (NASH) and is linked with the practice nurse groups and the INO.
